Even in wrestling shows they show breasts every so often, because its the same demographic. Reply to this

In regards to Beyonce and Jay-Z, I believe that it was business turned love which has been known to happen in a lot of people's relationships with one another. As far as the case with the attorney turned rapist, I can actually believe that he did this crime. It is a shame when we cannot even trust the police who took a sworn oath to protect and serve but when it comes to attorneys who are part of the pillars of law, it is even more of a problem as far as trusting the credibility of any attorney with a cases relating to violent acts without the notion that that attorney may be a participant or not above doing such things himself/herself. In regards to the HIV write up, I knew that disease had been around far longer than 2 decades especially since I was taking into reading the details of some the United States military during the Vietnam War. Some of those men came back truly a shell of who they were prior to being deployed to Vietnam for U.S efforts at that time. Ok, seriously I know this is a work of fiction but damn if I couldn't associate a few "real" artist: Vanilla Ice, Eminem, Judas Timberfake, Jennifer Lopez (turning down an award because she didn't want her 'music' pigeonholed as being 'black'. Chick puhleeze) Scott Storch and Kid Rock to name a few. And I don't mean in areas where directly mentioned either. I've got to say for a short piece it covered a lot of areas. 'Ross' in his racist rants was speaking the truth though we may not like the messenger. I enjoyed that short story quite a bit and shook my head through every page because that was truth in the cloak of fiction.
We can talk about being Kings and Queens, our stolen legacy and (gasp, thanks Hailey) haters but we're kidding ourselves if we pretend that we didn't help tarnish the crown, too many of our actions aren't royally and not only are there 'peasants' among us, often even when we look and want to be perceived as royalty we tend to function with a 'peasants' mentality.
We've got to take the good with the bad. As far as the industry goes many of them don't stand for anything. Real issues and situations means nothing to them if they AREN'T directly affected. For instance R.Kelly many supporters during the pedophile scandal didn't blink an eye and were all up in his videos, doing collabo's, shouting him out in interviews and what not. But OH! if R. Tiffany Pollard aka New York is just bitter. She realizes, yet again, that she just "lost one" with her talents for running decent men away;Punk,Taylor Made, etc and that is made painfully obvious aside from giving men the impression that being with her requires being emasculated at a moment's notice. Then again, for her to send a letter to another woman, Jennifer Hudson, to inform her that her relationship won't work is not flattering but a prime example that misery loves company and in addition, that Tiffany is plainly jealous of this woman's career and is trying to compensate for her shortcommings by taking jabs at Ms. Hudson as she would any woman who has something that she couldn't manage to "tame". As far as Ludacris, it is paramount that he take notes from a few pages of the white man's handbook in which the primary one is to know when to shut up or keep your mouth closed until you get what you want or accomplish your objective. Then upon success, minimize and strategize how you discuss it up attaining...never give a man enough rope to hang yourself with;a lesson that O.J CLEARLY didn't learn. I knew that Ms. Berry was a fertile female it was just a matter of finding a man to "provide or supply the seed". In relevance to the Obama T-shirt, one would think that in a country where there are so many freedoms including the right to wear due to the power of purchase, a man can wear whatever he desires. This is a classic case of fear of change from one who doesn't want it and would resort to volitile intimidation or violence to physically demonstrate it. OK! I know sometimes people are "blind" when they are too close to a situation, but come on! Kim and Big had kicked it for years and Kim was devastated that Big married Faith, and she wasn't actually quiet about being devastated, either.
It's really a shame how insecure Kim was, though. Biggie treated her like a second class citizen (and I'm being mild saying that), but she still continued to be wrapped up into him. She was seeing other guys, but when Biggie "wanted" her, no matter what, she made herself available.
People will only do to you want you allow them to do (a lesson I learned a long time ago..thanks Mom!), but I still have sympathy for any woman (or man) who thinks they have to deal with abuse because they aren't worthy of anything else.

The British burned the city and stole over 500 years worth of bronze artifacts from the palace. They need to return the bronze artifacts back to his great-grandson Omo Noba(son of the king) Erediauwa.

Whoooo that story about the white rapper was good. Maybe some of the other black readers will read it and take heed.

That story was so good!! When a story/article can evoke involuntary head shakes, frowns and WTFs from me, its the business!

Especially these new school artists who break their neck issuing statements on how they want to work with AMy Whinehouse, Britney (her new album is going to be AMAZING!!...*igga please), Lohan, Katy Perry, and so on and so on. Meanime, artists like Estelle, Jean Grae.. Keri Hilson..hell Mya and Christina Milian even.. its like they are invisible. Unless you need a chick to sing an extra bar or hold a duffle bag I guess. Breaking their necks to get close to Timberfake even after Janet. They could catch him on tape in a robe singing whoop that trick with a black woman on a leash and it would get wrote off... "He's so pimpish!"
Reply to this
I hear you and agree. I lump Timbaland in with the statement-issuers (Hi Busta... busta indeed). Does Timbaland even produce Black artists anymore? He seems to only work with white pop artists, male or female OK, they must simply be white.
Reply to this
I can't fault Timberland, go where the money is. He said rap doesn't pay as much for production as the genre did in the past but pop and rock pay tenfold for his production talents. Why not get paid! That's like me launching a company for only black customers, that's not good business. You want to appeal to the masses, bottom line, more money for you. Why should a producer just produce his own race, not a good business decision. If blacks can't pay your high fee, why not get paid elsewhere. Is he suppose to turn down white artists who have the money to pay because they are white and not black, I don't think so! I've heard blacks call him a sell out, what's selling out about getting paid by people who can pay. Is he suppose to be down and take less money or no money just to work with his own race? Slave mentality we need to get out of. Go where the money is and make them pay top dollar for your skills.
Reply to this
You made a lot of points in your statement and yes when you are running a business the main objective is to profit from your talents HOWEVER at what point do you say that I have enough??? How many millions does one have to make to finally same I content? How many houses do I need in my name or what is the limit of cars that I can drive? I mean to a certain point when do you stop worshipping the "mighty" dollar? For the amount of money that a producer like Timberland has made there should be a breaking point. Life is not all about money. Too many people are money hungry these days! What happen to the morals & the give-back mentality - its all I want to and take, take, take! The game made producers like Timberland - he didn't wake up 1 day, hired to make his 2nd mainstream hip-hop beat and said I'm charging one hundred thousand - he gradually progressed. In order for the game to progress, producers like Timberland should be entitled to give back to the game. Thats the problem with the Rap industry right now everybody wants to shine and rape the culture but when it goes downhill nobody wants to be part of the solution and uplift it. If you help destroy it, then it should be your obligation to rebuild not only for the longevity of yourself but for others who come behind you...

Not all Black artists do hip hop.
There are Black artists who do rock and pop.
I didn't say he should only work with Black artists. But ALL white? Wierd.
Some Black artists have the money to pay Timbaland, although I never mentioned money or said he should work for free.
It seems he thinks white is better to establish himself as a mega producer.

I think it's a slave mentality to think you have to go all-white to get it right.

You have winehouse on tape uttering racial slurs but Busta still wants to work with her. Ne-Yo praises Britney and the list goes on and on. Racial pride is a thing of the past, I have to agree with the poster who said, self hate is the new black. When that story of these women screwing for tracks came out and Joss Stone was one of the women, I didn't hear black men calling her the h word, when Kim K's tape came out, same thing, never heard black men calling her the h word but if Kim would have been a black woman with a white man, all hell would have broke off like it did over Halle Berry in monsters ball.
Reply to this
It's a double standard. I was in the theater for one showing of Monsters Ball and when the scene of Halle and Billy Bob started you heard yells of "Ah hell nah" ring out from a few "brothers. Many sitting right beside their non black girlfriend/date. And that was only a movie.
Reply to this
Now you know that brothers expect sisters to stay around and wait until they come back.. I saw the movie in theater twice and on both occassions, it was always the brothers with non blace females as their dates.

Exactly. Reminds me of that song lyric.. "I just need time to see, where I wanna be". We don't want you, but if things go horribly wrong I might come get you, so stay right here just in case. Over it.

Lisa, I agree totally. As I was reading it, I was just visualizing. Myra, I really hope you consider taking your stories and put them on tv. This was a great read.

Yeah I liked how Myra mixed a little fact/valid opinion with the fiction i.e. Britney Spears jacking Janet's moves and J. Timberlake being the new Elvis. Kind of a subtle way of making these actions known to other people who may not otherwise call them out about it. Instead they would rather glorify and support them.

Thank you Myra, that short story about the white rapper was the truth... fact or fiction i know there are a lot of whites hispanics asians and others who think the same way of us Beautiful Strong Intelligent Origianal Black people...

I liked the story as well. I must admit, it pretty much hits the nail on the head as far as how other races see black people and yet, some blacks are too blind to see it comming..just too accepting, nurturing, generous to a fault all these things are a part of a downfall.

Agreed! Additionally, the main character ended up falling into the trap of New Money like the majority of these rappers, spending like crazy thinking it will always be there.
Great read.

I have to agree this is a great read. Loved the contrast between Leo and Ross. Explosive and painfully real. I believe that this does go on & people will do whatever to whoever to be put on in this biz. Unfortunately there's not enough forethought on how to stay ON. Karma. Reaping what you sow...I'm still waiting on Justin Timberfake to have his. I used to like him before that whole superbowl debaucle. I was so disgusted with how quick he sold Janet out I was done. I would never support him for anything. I'm not a Janet fan but that was F*@#ed up. He threw her under the bus without hesitation. Punkish.
Reply to this
OMG! Right! How transparent were his actions?!?!?! And Justin had the nerve to say he didn't know she was going to do that. I was like, Really? Did he really just say he didn't know?
So Justin thinks we're suppose to believe that the big ending to their show was him just pretending-grabbing the boob of her costume and pretending-snatching it off just to reveal more fabric????
Thanks to The Boyfriend, I saw the clip of that performance over and over again, in slow motion, with the pause button...you would think he was investigating the damn thing for the network! Long story short, I didn't just land on Earth and I know that stunt was planned.

Hey Deanna,
Chile, that entire affair was BS. First off, it's the Superbowl, not the Nickelodean Kids Choice Awards. If they can show commercials of cows power farting, beer guzzlers and pizza deals in between scenes of men wrecking shop on a football field, I don't see how a glimpse of a breast made the world stop spinning. Even with the nipple shield. It's the Superbowl. She has on more clothes then the cheerleaders. Hypocritical nonsense. It's a sport event aimed at drunk men between the ages of 16-65. Even in wrestling shows they show breasts every so often, because its the same demographic.
Reply to this
Good points, all of them. And the cheerleaders are almost always nearly in bikinis. Janet was dress like Trinity from The Matrix and let one go for anyone that was interested.
However, I must disagree on one point. The world DID stop spinning just for a split second...at least in the sports bar I was in! LOL! You could hear a pin drop in that piece, then The Boyfriend jumps up and starts hi-five-ing random guys around us. So freakin' funny!

As far as T.I, there is nothing wrong with protecting yourself;however, no matter how ghetto the performer, he should not be above hiring security trained in that line of work rather than subjecting himself to taking matters in his own hand which would result in a prison term or high court fees and fines.
So, I wouldn't doubt that the disease was even further back than that but it was just amazing how scientist thought this disease initially was just a few years ago in the making.
Reply to this
I find it plausible that the police chief or whoever he was was responsible for rape. THere is a high rate of abuse among people in that field-and probably the military to. I believe the stresses of the job and their personalities contribute to this-but I don't know for a fact.

We as blacks tend to be too inclusive when no other race is inclusive of us. So many of us crave acceptance by other races, especially whites. BET is a prime example. Phasing their own race of women out for Latino and White women. I don't want to generalize and say all Latinos are racist or up to no good but for a Black network to hire them over their own race of people is disgusting. Latinos are not hiring blacks for Spanish television. We willingly give away our culture trying to include everyone but us. This is a really great story and I believe all the scenarios are a combination of what goes on with some of these white artists and what they really think about us.

Umm, Myra I have White Ice's twin brother, Platinum Bling on line two and he says he wants a sit down because he does NOT appreciate you putting the family business out there like that! Especially, now when he has a reality show in the works titled "Black man trapped in A White Man's body"
But OH! if R. Kelly throws shade and interfers with their projects, artists, radio play etc he's an out cast?! He needs to be blackballed for that but violating peoples children? Eh, no biggie. Too many have got it twisted.

No women with kids ever deserve to be done like that and no kid should see anything of that nature. parents are suppose to raise up their children the way they are suppose to be so when they grow older they wont stray from you or your teachings. how is a child suppose to deal with a situation like that? by a child seeing something like that can really hurt them mentally and even pyhsically, which is sad. i cant even imagine the way they felt when they seen this unfold. i believe they father should get the death penalty. he is a threat to others and mankind. people like that should be put away. ok back to lurk.

ok, I posted in wrong section. For the man who poured lye on his wife, prison is too easy. He should be put to a painful death. Its because of people like him that I support the death penalty and quite frankly find the method used too humane considering how these bastards torture their victims

Hey Goddiva I support the death penalty 100% too whenever someone does something so sick like what this fool azz person did. This was all because in his psycho mind she was messing around on him. And even if she was he had NO right to do what he did.
We have it easy over here in another country such a thing as what he did would cause him HIS life.
These jealous crazy azz mates just do whatever they feel when they're pissed and then think it's justifiable.
Those poor kids for the rest of they're lives have to live with having a sicko for a father because every time they look at they're mother it takes them back to that horrible night.
He should be tortured to the worst slow and painful.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest.

I agree with you on the Tiffinay Pollard thing. How you going to try and lecture someone on who to be with when you let Flavor Flav finger pop (sorry) you? DISGUSTING.
Even if Jennifer Hudson does not make it with Punk and Neicy Nash does not make it with Wood they will still have more class and money than a reject reality star.

New York has no business trying to tell someone about who not to date or marry since she herself is a person no one should date or marry.
She proves how ignorant she is every time she opens her mouth. Like I said on the other bi she's never going to have or keep a man as long as keep being the kind of person she is. She's hopeless and the sad part is she and her mom thinks is ok to be this way.

I am so happy that Halle Berry is one the cover on Esquire. She looks better than ever. I have always respected her and her quality of work. As for New York giving out "advice", she needs to quit it. Ludacris, I believe, is having sometime of psychotic break in reality if he thinks he is helping Obama. I remember when he came my city for a concert. He doesn't appreciate his fans.. my cousin worked at the venue he played in. Luda was a complete ass.
