Keep in mind Pac was already shot & robbed in NYC back in '94.He was already charged & later convicted of a felony rape/sexual abuse in late 1994 and sent to prison.

I agree that the lacefront wigs look great on tv, stage and film. In real life you have to have expert hands to really achieve a believable look.I have a suggestion though. I worked on a film set with hairstylist Oscar James, he was doing Vanessa Williams hair.He gave me a great trick that I will share with you. Find a human hair wig with a center or middle part. Turn the wig inside out and to see if you are able to cut along the part without interfering with the hair.(Good quality wigs work the best for this technique) Cut along the part. Using a sewing machine you can stitch back this part on either side. You will be left with a V shape. Leave out your hairline (1 inch) and section your own hair(about 1 to 2 inches) to cover the part.Pin curl or braid the rest of your hair. Place your wig on and pin into place. Your hair line should be exposed.Your one inch section on top can be parted down the middle and flat ironed or curled but it should cover the opening of the part you made. Blend your hairline into the wig. The result is a wig that does not look like one because you can see you natural part. Hope this helps ladies Reply to this

I post two cake recipes last week a carmel cake and sour cream pound cake I wanted to give a few ladies something for Mama's Day and a few other posted like the recipes as well. I think the carmel cake was the favorite of the two

@Southerngirl77 James Brown like Ike Turner both men were talented in his craft, but they also were abusive men. I guess they came from a time where they were raised that men hit they're women. James Brown used to beat the crap out of his wife Adrianne the oe who died after she had cosmtic surgery. The thig that used to make me so mad about her was after he'd kick her azz she'd call the police and when it was time to go to court over it all she would not show up a the case always got dropped. The irony of all this is he would beat her so bad her face looked a mess, she has surgery I'm sure to reconstruct her face from the bumps and lumps he caused and the surgery is what kills her.

Hi Penn. It's not the whole album with John legend, it's just one song that features him. The album is called Lay It Down. I got an advance copy about a month ago. It's pretty awesome. Anthony Hamilton also appears on 2 songs and Corrine Bailey Rae is on one song. ?uestlove from The Roots and James Poyser produced it.

So Tammi has been a victim of some kind of abuse from the jump. I believe she was fast lots of girls were fast back in the day but she still shouldn't have been raped.
Men are already checking out young girls anyway because at a certain age we start to grow in areas that makes us look older then what we are. It doesn't help to be fast because boys and older men are going to try to get at ya.

Yeah not all but the ones who have no respect for women or young girls men can be dogs. They don't care about hurting the girls feeling or making her feel scare with they're sexual comments. They say it for they're own sexual satisfaction but let another guy say something to they're mother, sister or daughter.
I was in a store one day and this young girl who must have been about 16 she was so pretty had a nice figure but she was dressed in a short tight skirt her top was lowcut she had a big chest and heels on. OH MY GOD the way the men were looking at this young girl child I was disgusted and scared for her. She was with her boyfriend but they grown men was looking at this girl you can tell what they were thinking.
Me and another lady was saying that even though she shouldn't have been dressed the way she was,those men should have had more control over how they were lurking at this girl. They didn't care that she was with her boyfriend or that she was young enough to be most of them daughter.
I wanted so bad to say to her sweetie you need to cover up more when you come out that outfit is just to old for you to wear. But the way some kids are she might have went off on me

I can second that motion. Hell by the time I was 10 (actually) the day before my 11th b-day I had everything if you know what I mean. Sista's we have got to be each others keepers. Watch out for our daughters, nieces, goddaughters, sisters, cousins, aunts HELL our mommas. Cuz grown women who done did somethings and been through somethings play fool and catch hell. Damn every young girl goes through a phase and starts thinking she's got 'the knowledge' cuz she got hips and tits that these dudes start to notice, comment on and wanna push up on. The foundation that's been laid for them will help them decide how to respond and how to carry themselves.
Predators have always been around but the days of thinking you can tell on sight is GONE. I don't have kids but I'm in a line of work where I can't afford to wear rose colored glasses. A common result of girls becoming/acting 'fast' is that they have been sexually abused and too often exposed to adult situations, conversations and left to make adult decisions. And yes ma ma's play a role in this: seperate your being a woman with needs apart from being a mother and leading by example (ok. Tyrone got that magic stick but does that mean he should be laid up in your house in your bed around your kids even when you ain't home? and before that it was Mike.) Get my point. Just one of many,many examples I could give.

I was kinda a late bloomer(Thank God)but I have always had a petite figure, small chest so when I saw how the girls who developed early had to go through when those over sexed grown azz men made those sexual comments at her
They'd even sometimes fellow the girls down the street trying to talk to her. It was scarey sometimes to go to the store.
But then there was the really fast gals who liked when a guy said something to her as long as he was cute it was ok with her. If she was 14 or 15 and he was 18 or 20 it just blew her mind in a good way he'd say something to her about her body or chest.
So as much as I hate to admit it sometimes she didn't help matters by bringing the attention on herself.

I must applaud Quincy Jones for making such a smart business move...if Madonna was any of a real friend, she would have known not to take it personally, especially since there was nothing musical about her relationship with Rodman. And, I wish whomever is over BET and 106 & Park would have had someone smart like Quincy to advise them against having Madonna (and Tom Cruise last summer) on the show.

Okay, I need my Panachigan ladies for this and based on Myra's reports my brothers in the know and 'honorary girls' [holla if ya hear me!] can help to. I've been surfing the net on Beyonce, Tyra etc. and found out they've been wearing lace wigs! Yall I AM IN LOVE. Yo, maybe I'm late on this beauty tidbit but I was so impressed (they look so good and natural)I want one or a few. Hell I'd marry it but I don't think that's legal in Florida or any other U.S state. Before I give in to my must-have-lust, these wigs aren't cheap and so if any of you have info, recommendations, advice & cautions please let me know.
FYI to Myra: I would like to see an area on the board regarding the latest trends regarding hair, fashion, diet etc among the celebs (there is something similar but I'm talking about more withing the price range of mere mortals or may I suggest that it expands to the above specifics). Especially those among the handful of black/brown in Hollywood. I'm not interested in emulating everything,hell not half of what they do but discovering the lace wig thing made me feel like I just found out the earth was round and I was the last to know!

Goddiva you are killing me tonite, wha part of the country are you? In NY youcan get the cheaper priced ones at the local hair stores, for about 400-500, the sell them on line but not sure about that. I was going to try myself b/c Beyonce, Tyra, Mary, Oprah Patti aint the only ones to look good(they all have dabbled with them). But Wendy said she tried and it looked good in pis, but fake in person. I think it depends on how experienced the person applying the adhesive is with the glue. And I am scared about i pulling out my hair. I have a nice head of hair, but would love to xperiment with color and length.
If you try it let me know, might be cutefor a couple of days, to have a new look.

FYI: The lacefront wig was designed for TV and Film, not the natural eye. It looks great from afar, but up close it might scare your man if you don't prep him first.

I agree that the lacefront wigs look great on tv, stage and film. In real life you have to have expert hands to really achieve a believable look.I have a suggestion though. I worked on a film set with hairstylist Oscar James, he was doing Vanessa Williams hair.He gave me a great trick that I will share with you.
Find a human hair wig with a center or middle part.
Turn the wig inside out and to see if you are able to cut along the part without interfering with the hair.(Good quality wigs work the best for this technique)
Cut along the part.
Using a sewing machine you can stitch back this part on either side. You will be left with a V shape.
Leave out your hairline (1 inch) and section your own hair(about 1 to 2 inches) to cover the part.Pin curl or
braid the rest of your hair.
Place your wig on and pin into place.
Your hair line should be exposed.Your one inch section on top can be parted down the middle and flat ironed or curled but it should cover the opening of the part you made.
Blend your hairline into the wig.
The result is a wig that does not look like one because you can see you natural part.

if we were face to face it would be easier to show. Let me try again.
When you cut down the middle/side part you have left it open. You then have to make a seam on the two exposed parts so that the wig doesn't unravel. You would be left with an open v shape.
Now the wig has an opening that you can bring you own hair through to blend over the wig. ( wish I could draw it because a visual would be better).Hope you understand this a bit better

Hey Goddiva, I wear lace wigs and have since 2006. I purchase my wigs directly from China where they are made and consequently purchased/sold in the US by American retailers. The difference is that I pay the same price they do. And no, it does not just look good from afar.
As for Tyra, she needs to let her stylist go that applys her LW because that person does not keep her applications on point, you would be surprised how many reqular folks are wearing LW's and going undetectable because of the application. I recommend that you do research and also stop by black hair media; there is a forum dedicated to just lace wigs that I am a member of. HTHs.

Do you notice any effect on your skin from the glue?I'm just curious because so many women lose there hairline or suffer hair breakage to hair extension. Naomi Campbell would fall under this category.
In regards to Tyra, I think her lace front looks like a wig. But not because I don't notice the lace so much. Most of the time it is the styling. Too much hair.Also when you don't see her natural scalp,( middle or side part)that is the give away that she is wearing a wig.
I won't even get into the wig Trina is sporting. That baby hair looks like it is covering up a crime scene.

Thanks face. LOL at "crime scene" and Tyra. I use glue and tape, sometimes together depending on the hold I want. For me it was a matter of finding the right adhesive that worked best for my skin. As for hair breakage/hairline, there are various techniques that one can use to avoid this from happening. Some wear behind the hairline, others right in front, while some wax/shave a portion of their hairline for better adhesion. My LW are ordered based on my head measurements so as to be able to wear in front of my hairline.
It is about what works best for an individual. The goal is to not neglect one's own hair while wearing the wig especially if the purpose is for fashion or to grow out ones hair to a healthier state. The other importance is style. Just placing on one's head for the sake of length defeats the purpose.

I have worn lace wigs for close to a year now and no one knows that my hair is a wig. It all depends on the hairline and application. I'm also a BHM member 2blessed. Good luck Goddiva!!

I am black American but I have been based in Britain for the last 6 years, most of them in Glasgow and in the last few months I have relocated to London. I was SHM at Usher. Fair enough, if the average American man on the street gets confused with place names, but not a touring superstar singer. I'm an East Londoner now!

Hi Hidoll! I am really good but busy. I am moving so I have to get everything ready for the new house and try and sort out the old house.
My weekend was great-- nice hot weather here in London. I am baking a couple of carrot cakes, but you had my mouth watering about caramel cakes-- I haven't had one in years. My grandma used to make those and coconut cakes that were the bomb. I remember being a little girl and my great-aunt used to make pineapple upside down cakes and I thought that was the most beautiful cake I'd ever seen!
Thanks for the key to the East End fiziwhoa! I will be living in Leyton now. Was living in West London, but I get more for my money in the east. I've had me cockles and winkles, but yet to have jellied eels. I think I will be getting one of those lace front syrups that a couple of the girls were talking about.

I love goods carrot cake w/cream cheese icing. My mom and myself can make a DAMN good homemade coconut cake(the only way we make in my family)I made one for a guy at where I used to work and by the end of the day he had eaten half that cake up. He said he was going to take it home so his family can have a piece but he ripped into that cake like a kid opening a gift.

Coconut cake is also one of our favorites, that might be a southern thing, i dont know. but my mom makes them for sunday dinner sometimes. you guys sure do a lot of baking in your family, although my mom does most of our cooking, i am mostly the taste tester. LOL. However, my mother-in-law is the only person that can make a carrot cake the way me and my mom likes them. We have tried other people, but havent been satisfied. She says the difference is a glaze topping, i dont know, i just know its nice & sweet, very good.
